A story is stronger when you stop watching it.

1. What we are trying to do

Make you live your own film.

Cinema knows how to build worlds and make you care about them, but it leaves you in a seat. Video games make you an actor, but they fit inside a screen and require learning a machine. Escape rooms put you physically inside the set, with your friends, but they cannot take you to the bottom of a volcano.

KIRA looks for the point where those three meet: a real space you cross on foot, a story written like cinema, and the freedom to act of a game — with nothing to learn.

À retenir

KIRA is a hyper-reality venue in Paris 11e. A 180 m² game floor inside a 300 m² space. Teams of 2 to 6 people, ages 11 and up, for 1 hour. Opening November 2026. The brand is operated by REAL ADVENTURES.

2. Where the idea comes from

The word hyper-reality was not invented here. The principle itself fits into two sentences: if you see a wall, you can touch it; if it rains, you get wet. Everything else follows from that.

That principle was pushed very far elsewhere in the world, then set aside. In France, nobody has taken it up in full.

That is the space KIRA occupies. Not one more virtual reality venue, but the only experience in the world where free-roam movement comes with connected props and physical sets aligned to what you see.

To understand the principle in detail: hyper-reality.

3. The choices we made

VR is a means, not an end. It exists to make a jungle appear in a room in the 11th. Once it has done that it disappears, and the experience plays out in the real world.

No controllers. Your hands are tracked directly, and everything else runs through objects that exist: a steering wheel, a torch, a crank. There is nothing to learn, so nobody is left out for never having played.

No artificial movement. You move forward because you walk. That is what removes motion sickness, the main obstacle to virtual reality.

The body counts as much as the eyes. The wind, the heat, the vibrating floor, objects with weight. Every sensation aligned with the image removes one reason to doubt.

Ages 11 and up, for everyone. Existing free roam locked itself into shooters and a heavily male audience. KIRA aims for the opposite: mixed groups, families, people who have never touched a console.

The group is part of the design. Roles are asymmetric, nobody gets out alone, and what you say to each other during that hour is part of the experience.

4. The model: changing the billing

A venue offering a single experience gets visited once.

KIRA releases a new adventure every three to six months. Each time, the space is re-cut, the sets are rebuilt, new connected props are installed. The place bears no resemblance to the previous one.

This is made possible by the very principle of hyper-reality: most of the set lives in the virtual world, and what stays physical is simple to strike and rebuild. Where an escape room takes years to renew a room, KIRA counts in months.

The story carries from one scenario to the next. Each adventure is a level of the same game, and it has to be finished.

5. The first scenario

The Lost Temple, available November 2026.

In the nineties, a studio built an adventure game far too far ahead of its time. The project was abandoned after a series of incidents. People said the game reacted to its players.

It has just been found and restarted. The team sent to test it never came back.
